As Scarlet Door Gallery longs to see the beauty and glory of creativity return fully to Jesus Christ’s name, believing He is going to change the expression of Christianity in one generation which includes the arts, media and entertainment, we joyfully support what He is doing in different arts groups, exhibits and movements, across this city, nation and internationally.

With that said, April will be a month dedicated to breaking up the soil of our hearts before God. Pushing and pressing in for an outpouring of His Spirit, an overflow of creativity and ideas, wisdom and revelation. Is anyone else thirsty to know God intimately and from that place overflow with stories that provoke and images that move and words that draw the saved and unsaved near Him and wanting more? Let’s come together to ask God to rain down His Spirit that truly there will be new creativity blossoming in May!

Let’s gather in April to prepare the way for the IHOP Art show in May, Scarlet Door Gallery will be hosting various gatherings that means…. more events to be listed for April! Such as, times of corporate artist’s prayer and fasting, gathering to create, discuss, and work on group projects/outreaches. Exciting!

So please keep in touch and check back here for more updates!

Love,
Scarlet Door Gallery

a little glimpse into the heart of Scarlet Door Gallery….

I believe that the Beloved Jesus Christ desires to bring the arts back to the Himself, I am believing and praying that a release of the Holy Spirit would pour over artists like in the Book of Acts, that the broken-hearted, the ill, the captive of pain and depression would be set free in watching a movie, looking at a photo or painting, and reading an essay by one who has ‘decreased that Jesus may increase’, that the art would not reflect our goodness but the might of the heavenly Father’s Love to transcend through a fragile piece of art to speak Truth directly to the audience and reveal a glimpse of beauty every hearts longs for. The world has for far too long ‘owned’ creativity… may the Church arise that the world would come to the Most Beautiful One and His people bearing His image, for inspiration satisfying their thirst for beauty, excitement, and healing!

Scarlet Door Gallery is just one tiny hole in the wall space brought forth by God. It is key as preachers have a platform to preach and teachers a classroom to teach, so the artist needs a space for their voice to be heard. Even so as the Lord truly speaks through His people! The gallery exhibits both established artists as well as emerging or curious creative hearts. I believe it is essential for a gallery to continual provoke and encourage the surrounding community and artists local and abroad to create afresh! No more stagnant water. We have the river of living water flowing within us that never runs dry. Fresh creativity and ideas! Yet it is our part, to steward the gifts, abilities, and skills within, so from a heart grounded in devotion to Jesus Christ. I believe we are called to faithfulness even in the place of creating regularly with: a sketch, a few photographs, a note, line and lyrical verse, grasping that God Alimighty has truly ‘entrusted’ His people with His creative heart, and it is something to treasure and cherish bringing Him honor and praise!

Though the Scarlet Door Gallery will only open it’s doors as the Lord leads, this Website will serve as a door that never closes, with new articles, links, posts! So jump in! Swim in the adventure of discovering hidden treasures in God’s heart for the redemption of mankind, even thru the avenue of tranforming art, media, entertainment and culture! What is impossible with man, is possible with God!

HE put ART in my HEART,

Heather Marie Ballis

Enter new artworks and expressions into this next Scarlet Door gallery exhibit!

Hi!

As you can see, posting is just a little bit behind. It’s been one month since the first show and now it’s time to prepare for the next! Last time, Scarlet Door exhibited established artists and their works completed as in a portfolio. It was a great time! However, this coming show has emerged from a vision to see artists create new work [yes, even those that used to make art 'years ago']  will search the Lord’s heart on a specific theme surrounded by Scripture… that something new, fresh, curious, full of wonder, vulnerable, weak yet beautiful…. would come forth in new art pieces. The artists will also have a chance to speak about the process of creating their new piece. So let’s talk about the details and what this looks like…

Theme : L O V E:

H E A R T : As we has just passed Valentine’s Day and with ’love’ and the topic of ‘romance’ ‘relationship’ in the air,  there is an awareness to the longing, searching, aching in the human heart for a real, tender, honest, powerful encounter of love with God and with one another that reveals the depths of the Father’s loving heart while adding the warmth of presence to life.  What it is to be loved and to love? This is a time in the year that is actually an invitation to come to know personally our True Love and to speak of Him to longing hearts, even as His love overflows into the relationships that surround us.  This is a time for healing and restoring. God is love and the ocean of His depths are unsearchable, meaning the adventure continues on and on. He releases His love in many aspects and avenues, flowing, overflowing, intertwining as the very seams of our lives, the treads of our hair and the fingerprints of our existance revealing His goodness and faithfulness. He even longs to see us reveal this love to one another, to see the fullness of His love abounding still more and more, as we are in relationship, friendship and companionship, from how we speak, listen, proclaim, pray, encourage, edify, sharpen, bless one another. There is a beckoning for the broken heart to love in purity, beauty, holiness. I hope your heart is stirring to know His True Love and the Lord releases prophetic and creative inspiration as you read the Scripture below:

Scripture to start a stirring within [feel free to be led where ever the Lord leads you in Scripture that brings forth revelation and expression of His love. The Word truly is His love letter to us] :

Song of Songs1:2
“Your love is more delightful than wine.”

1 Corinthians 13

If I speak in the tongues of men and of angels, but have not love, I am only a resounding gong or a clanging cymbal. If I have the gift of prophecy and can fathom all mysteries and all knowledge, and if I have a faith that can move mountains, but have not love, I am nothing. If I give all I possess to the poor and surrender my body to the flames, but have not love, I gain nothing.

Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. It is not rude, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs. 6Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth. 7It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres. Love never fails.

Gal. 5:6  The only thing that counts is faith expressing itself through love.

John 12:3 Then Mary took about a pint of pure nard, an expensive perfume; she poured it on Jesus’ feet and wiped his feet with her hair. And the house was filled with the fragrance of the perfume.

1 John 4:18 There is no fear in love. But perfect love drives out fear.

2 Cor. 7:7 God who comforts the downcast, comforted us by the coming of Titus…

Proverbs 17:17 A friend loves at all times, and a brother is born for adversity.

Isaiah 40:11 He tends his flock like a shepherd:  He gathers the lambs in his arms and carries them close to his heart; he gently leads those that have young.

Proverbs 8:31 Jesus rejoicing in his whole world and delighting in mankind at Creation.

Song of Songs 7:7, 8:5Your love…burns like a blazing fire, like a mighty flame, many waters cannot quench love, rivesr cannot wash it away.Set me as a seal upon your heart, as a seal upon your right arm, for love is stronger than death.

More will be added…

Who : you & anyone desiring to glorify Jesus Christ

What type of artwork: film, video, music video, photography, writing, music, fine art, sculpture, poetry. all new works, if you want to show an older piece it must have not been shown before or has a fresh revelation upon it. If so, please email Scarlet Door to talk about what the Lord is speaking to you regarding your art piece. Also your work can be literal but we also encourage you to think outside the box and attempt to step into the beautiful mystery of work that whispers. For example, how is it that we know our friend cares for us? Is it always what they say [which is good, healthly and beautiful to speak] yet there are also times when a friend’s presence brings comfort and the assurance of love and faithfullness even when they don’t say anything. Just a thought to consider. I know the Lord will lead you sweetly in each of your moments of process and creating.

If you have any questions, please email :  scarletdoorgallery@yahoo.com

May you encounter the Father’s love washing over you and filling you with new love! Remember to steward the treasure He has entrusted within you. Whether for a gallery or not, it is always as a fragrance before His throne as we offer our gifts and heart’s devotion to Him. Sketch one line, Photograph one photo, Sing one note, Storyboard one box, Dance one leap. Each day Ground your heart as you Read His love letter to you, Enjoy His Presence, Rest in His Wisdom, Pray with Him, Praise as He lifts your chin to see His face, Rejoice because you are fully enwrapped, clothed, and saturated in the red of His love that has made you white as snow.

HE First LOVED Us,

Scarlet Door Gallery opens

It was a sweet Friday afternoon, the sun shining brightly with chilly wind that bite the fingertips, 2pm hit the clock and Scarlet Door Gallery opens the door to a hand full of gals then others throughout the day. It was very calm and relaxing this the first day, as we gathered around the kitcken table and ate banana nut muffins baked by Amanda,  red grapes, and sipping fruit juice. Saturday was filled with more smiling eyes and eager creatives and friends to enjoy what the Lord was doing this afternoon. Lee kicked off the raw worship music as Heather led the gathering in a mix of devotion/intercession prayer for the redemption of the arts, into, dedicating the gallery to our Beloved Jesus Christ! Later in the evening, Heather brought a word about stewardship over those gifts that the Lord has entrusted into His people. [Read more on link] The night sweetly closed as Sunny and Tim each played a song. Sunny brought us back to the rememberance of resting in our heavenly Father’s love, as she sang, “Thank you for being so you and so not me” as Tim sang of the adventure of discovering beauty and life with Jesus, singing ”Say it is with me and we will go watch the sea and it will never get to small, say it is without me and I will search for you thru the streets of my heart.” It was a special opening gallery show! with all praise and glory to our Beloved Jesus!
