Enter new artworks and expressions into this next Scarlet Door gallery exhibit!
Hi!
As you can see, posting is just a little bit behind. It’s been one month since the first show and now it’s time to prepare for the next! Last time, Scarlet Door exhibited established artists and their works completed as in a portfolio. It was a great time! However, this coming show has emerged from a vision to see artists create new work [yes, even those that used to make art 'years ago'] will search the Lord’s heart on a specific theme surrounded by Scripture… that something new, fresh, curious, full of wonder, vulnerable, weak yet beautiful…. would come forth in new art pieces. The artists will also have a chance to speak about the process of creating their new piece. So let’s talk about the details and what this looks like…

H E A R T : As we has just passed Valentine’s Day and with ’love’ and the topic of ‘romance’ ‘relationship’ in the air, there is an awareness to the longing, searching, aching in the human heart for a real, tender, honest, powerful encounter of love with God and with one another that reveals the depths of the Father’s loving heart while adding the warmth of presence to life. What it is to be loved and to love? This is a time in the year that is actually an invitation to come to know personally our True Love and to speak of Him to longing hearts, even as His love overflows into the relationships that surround us. This is a time for healing and restoring. God is love and the ocean of His depths are unsearchable, meaning the adventure continues on and on. He releases His love in many aspects and avenues, flowing, overflowing, intertwining as the very seams of our lives, the treads of our hair and the fingerprints of our existance revealing His goodness and faithfulness. He even longs to see us reveal this love to one another, to see the fullness of His love abounding still more and more, as we are in relationship, friendship and companionship, from how we speak, listen, proclaim, pray, encourage, edify, sharpen, bless one another. There is a beckoning for the broken heart to love in purity, beauty, holiness. I hope your heart is stirring to know His True Love and the Lord releases prophetic and creative inspiration as you read the Scripture below:
Scripture to start a stirring within [feel free to be led where ever the Lord leads you in Scripture that brings forth revelation and expression of His love. The Word truly is His love letter to us] :
Song of Songs1:2
“Your love is more delightful than wine.”
1 Corinthians 13
If I speak in the tongues of men and of angels, but have not love, I am only a resounding gong or a clanging cymbal. If I have the gift of prophecy and can fathom all mysteries and all knowledge, and if I have a faith that can move mountains, but have not love, I am nothing. If I give all I possess to the poor and surrender my body to the flames, but have not love, I gain nothing.
Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. It is not rude, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs. 6Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth. 7It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres. Love never fails.
Gal. 5:6 The only thing that counts is faith expressing itself through love.
John 12:3 Then Mary took about a pint of pure nard, an expensive perfume; she poured it on Jesus’ feet and wiped his feet with her hair. And the house was filled with the fragrance of the perfume.
1 John 4:18 There is no fear in love. But perfect love drives out fear.
2 Cor. 7:7 God who comforts the downcast, comforted us by the coming of Titus…
Proverbs 17:17 A friend loves at all times, and a brother is born for adversity.
Isaiah 40:11 He tends his flock like a shepherd: He gathers the lambs in his arms and carries them close to his heart; he gently leads those that have young.
Proverbs 8:31 Jesus rejoicing in his whole world and delighting in mankind at Creation.
Song of Songs 7:7, 8:5Your love…burns like a blazing fire, like a mighty flame, many waters cannot quench love, rivesr cannot wash it away.Set me as a seal upon your heart, as a seal upon your right arm, for love is stronger than death.
More will be added…

Who : you & anyone desiring to glorify Jesus Christ
What type of artwork: film, video, music video, photography, writing, music, fine art, sculpture, poetry. all new works, if you want to show an older piece it must have not been shown before or has a fresh revelation upon it. If so, please email Scarlet Door to talk about what the Lord is speaking to you regarding your art piece. Also your work can be literal but we also encourage you to think outside the box and attempt to step into the beautiful mystery of work that whispers. For example, how is it that we know our friend cares for us? Is it always what they say [which is good, healthly and beautiful to speak] yet there are also times when a friend’s presence brings comfort and the assurance of love and faithfullness even when they don’t say anything. Just a thought to consider. I know the Lord will lead you sweetly in each of your moments of process and creating.
